Mel Ristau / Kinetic Sculptor

Mel Ristau creates large-scale aerial kinetic sculpture that animate interior spaces with color and whimsy — enlivening the spirits of adults and children alike. Made of aluminum and stainless, Ristau’s monumental works evoke pure visual and emotional delight and are aesthetically accessible to a broad public.

Since 2003, Ristau has installed over 20 monumental sculptures in corporate, healthcare and university facilities. His recent works include early integration and post construction installations for Anschutz Medical Center (Denver, CO); Children’s Medical Center – Legacy (Plano, TX); Children’s Hospital of Atlanta (Atlanta, GA); Robert Wood Johnson Children’s Specialized Hospital (New Brunswick, NJ); Methodist Mansfield Medical Center (Plano, TX); the University of Colorado (Colorado Springs, CO); and Walker Brands (Tampa, FL).
